About Us
Born from a scientific co-operation between the Istituto di Studi sul Mediterraneo Antico (hereafter ISMA) and the Bu-Ali Sina University of Hamadan, and in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Office of Iranian Kurdistan province, QaNaTES project is a joint Italo-Iranian archaeological project co-directed by Silvana Di Paolo (ISMA) and Ali Binandeh (Bu-Ali Sina University of Hamadan) and founded by the National Council of Research and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It also benefits from the public support of the Fondazione Idis-Città della Scienza (Naples) and its initiatives, such as the Iran-Italy Science, Technology, & Innovation Forum (Teheran, 19-20 April 2017) that provided a basis for the internationalisation of both Iranian and Italian companies and institutions and further academic exchanges between Research Institutes and the Universities of the two countries. Strict co-operation between the two teams regarding the excavation, documentation and promotion of the site will assure:
- an increase of the level and depth of co-operative activities, with special attention to educational and cultural aspects;
- the input for productive synergies, creating new opportunities to obtain funds and promotion of competitiveness and innovation;
- the accomplishment of a greater impact in scientific and technological knowledge transfer, research and development.
